Lighter moments from Tennis

Who said Tennis is a serious game? (Okeey.. I can see TDAlpha glaring at me already)

Yes Tennis is a very serious game, and I know nothing about it - except for celebrity gawking! And then I came across these pictures and I had to share it out with the world and to you, TDAlpha that not everything is serious at the court - at least not to us.

Aircel Chennai Open Is Back !

There is Federer, there is Gasquet… And then there is single fisted back-hand… Woah! How did I even miss out on the only double Grand-slam Singles Champion that kick starts his ATP calendar with an Indian 250-point event? The Stanimal…  And yes, the McDowell (holding breath) Open circus which staged its first show in 1996 is all set to kick start Stanislas Wawrinka’s season yet again. Just remembering slightly hazily, it was also known as the Gold Flake Open and Tata Open before Aircel started sponsoring it and also later threatening pulling out of it. Whats with sports, smokes and liquor? Oh, ok its jus me…
It never ceases to amaze me how often the Chennai audience have tilted their loyalty over the years. It has always been on the player who, among the current draw, have visited the city most number of times. Ha, that’s an excellent way to follow a sport and pick a favorite player, isn’t it?

We miss ya, "Fuck you"!

Was watching this Champions Tennis League last week, new format that has been around for a coupla years through a coupla tournaments now. Was watching those senior players rally extremely strategically as against the present players that just seem to bludgeon the ball and beat the opponents, more by physical strength than by actual tennis nuance of placement of the ball and/or/ followed by a blinding winner makes me think that the game is going the cricket way.

Just another misanthropic day

Full sleeve shirts and pressed cotton chinos on a cool and rainy Monday morning; heading to office!!! Schools are off due to rain, (note: for teachers also) we office goers are just that expendable that it doesn’t matter if it pours or we flow off with the floods into the Bay of Bengal. Let’s see what the week has in store for me, if I do survive through it – Monday, Tuesday and very other day except Sunday, this Picasso of a banker (me) has to the office equivalent of painting my neighbor’s fence at work and hope for some blessed soul to buy me beer after 1800 hours. On Sunday am planning on skipping my customary beer and sticking strictly to some whiskey that can carry me through to next Saturday with just beer on working days.

Shetalks #1: things I am grateful for today

Today was one of those really bad days. The kinda day when the tear droplets are ready to flow down at less than a moment's notice. The kinda day when you realize that there is no point in doing anything and everything in the world sucked.
And of course, it had to rain cats and dogs. Not to mention, it spoiled all my plans to go to the beach to cheer myself up.

Indian Standard Time

What are your office timings? Mine is between 0900 and 1730. All of us here (in my office) are sure about when we can leave; everyone! Only a few of us know, the bunch of eternal absolute losers, when we are supposed to come in. Only we, the desolate few, know that we are supposed to start working at 0900; not wake up at 0900, not start from home at 0900, not park my car 0900 or catch up with a gush of fresh air at 0900 (read as: smoke)! We never seem to have this on-time concept,‘ somehow-around’ seems to be the order of the day.

I can at least blog

How many times have you woken up in the morning thinking, ‘X days before weekend starts… and ends in like 3 seconds’? Apparently, the day shapes up better when X </= 0.
Ignoring the risk of sounding philosophical, life is not all about fast cars and women. In fact sometimes I strongly feel that I would never ever get (into) either; unless it is someone else’s in which case both end up looking that much faster, forbidden and fantastic(er?) – Not necessarily in that order.

That girl who-kissed-a-guy-who-didn't-return-it

'I kissed him'. There I said it. It was just a kiss and nothin' more. Did not wait for him to kiss back. And that was my first kiss.

Has anyone ever had a perfect first kiss? Or people just thought it was perfect just because it was the first? Leaving you to ponder about that, I want to talk about the only thing I want to talk about ever - Me. What could better a first post than a first post about first kiss?
